Actiwatch The Actiwatch-Score is a compact, wrist-worn, battery-operated activity monitor whose physical characteristics are similar to a small wristwatch. The Actiwatch-Score utilizes a motion sensor known as an accelerometer to monitor and record the occurrence and degree of acceleration associated with motion. This information is stored in memory on board the device as activity counts, which can then be downloaded and summed to form a measure of general physical activity. In addition, the Actiwatch-Score has a very unique and clinically useful score-alarm system that allows the assessor to program audible alarms to cue the wearer to enter time-coded scores (0-15) into memory via a small, watertight button on the face of the unit. The score-alarm system provides the clinician or researcher with a means of collecting a wealth of self-report data such as pain, mood, or activity ratings that can be examined in the context of concurrent activity data.
